2. NUCMAT FEATURES AND LIMITATIONS
NUCMAT is nuclear materials accounting and reporting software that allows maintaining an accurate inventory of nuclear materials both at state and facility/LOF levels, recording all changes and providing a recoverable history related with amount and disposition of nuclear materials. NUCMAT provides users at the State level and Facilities/LOFs level quick access to data allow users to carry out analysis of data and present data in the form of reports, tables, and locations.
NUCMAT is developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2012. The Database as a part of NUCMAT is designed using Microsoft SQL Express technology. Since Microsoft SQL Express is available, free of charge this allows users to avoid any additional financial burdens for NUCMAT installation and implementation.
When installed at Facility/LOF level NUCMAT is able to meet nuclear material accounting, reporting needs at facility/LOF level, generating, and transferring all necessary information to the State level.
At the State level NUCMAT is able to satisfy nuclear material accounting and reporting needs at the State level based on the information received from both Facilities/LOFs where NUCMAT is used or Facilities/LOFs where Excel sheet are used. At the State level, NUCMAT allows performing nuclear material accounting and reporting for LOFs.
NUCMAT is capable to perform the following main functions:
· Perform and register all required nuclear materials inventory change operations - Shipment, Receipt, Nuclear Material Loss/Production, Exemption, De-Exemption, Transfer to Retained Waste, Retransfer from Retained Waste, Accidental Loss, Accidental Gain, Re-batching, Shipper-Receiver Difference.
· Manage of nuclear materials accountancy infrastructure:
ü Create, browse and edit MBAs,
ü Create, browse and edit KMPs,
ü Create, browse and edit layouts of nuclear materials,
· Generate all required records and reports:
ü General Ledger,
ü Physical Inventory Listing (PIL),
ü Inventory Change Report (ICR),
ü Material Balance Report (MBR),
ü List of Inventory Items (LII).
· Create initial nuclear material inventory loading into NUCMAT database.
To perform main functions the following sub-functions are present in NUCMAT:
· calculation of nuclear materials inventory,
· calculation of nuclear material balance,
· tracking of all changes and providing recoverable history of nuclear materials to users,
· registration of all actions performed when working with the database in Activity Log,
· data entering and validation,
· automatic input of nuclear materials characteristics into NUCMAT database from files with special format,
· backup of NUCMAT database,
· restore of NUCMAT database,
· provides users with auxiliary capabilities to create nuclear material accountancy infrastructure,
· administration of users rights.
